At this year's Guinness IRISH CHRISTMAS-In the evenings there are once again two full concert sets by two bands.

1. Set: finally becomes the wonderful Irishwoman Shirley GrimeS can be heard on this tour with their completely unique and enchanting style! Shirley emigrated to Switzerland almost three decades ago and writes songs that are reminiscent of big names like Emmylou Harris and Alanis Morisette, but always remain Shirley Grimes compositions with an Irish feeling and have been documented on 8 albums so far. With her excellent Swiss band, she is sure to win many fans in Austria right away.

2. Set: With 3 On The Bund Once again a new Irish band is coming to IRISH CHRISTMAS, whose protagonists met at the music university in Limerick and decided to continue working together as a band during a concert tour in China after their spontaneously rehearsed program was so well received. The only thing missing was the band name. The Waist They particularly liked Promenade in Shanghai. At the house number 3 they met for a walk. This is how “3 on the Bund” came about.

The protagonists come from the counties of Clare, Waterford and Kerry as well as from Bavaria and have several award winners in the band: the multi-instrumentalist Rebecca McCarthy Kent is a multiple award winner on fiddle and piano (Fleadh Ceoil All Ireland) and Aisling Lyons 8-fold All Ireland Champion on harp and concertina. Guitarist and banjo player Seán Kelliher joined in 2013 All Ireland Fleadh in Derry Gold. . Singer Roísín Ryan was first named in 2010 All Irish Champion in the Séan-Nos Singing (the traditional Irish song).

With its mix of tradition, its own songs & tunes, but also influences from world music, the quintet brings new impulses to the Irish folk scene.
